Classes begin in August for police volunteers - El Paso Times: "Volunteers assist the El Paso Police Department by providing crime victims and their families assistance when they or a loved one have been a victim of a crime. The assistance provided included assisting officers in death notifications, helping transport victims to various locations and providing information to victims to assist them.

The El Paso Police Department has had the team of volunteers for 14 years."
