The Orillia Packet & Times - Ontario, CA

The Orillia Packet & Times - Ontario, CA: "Supported by the Orillia OPP and endorsed by the police services board Tues- day, Citizens On Patrol would require 60 volunteers who would work in pairs using their personal vehicles in four-hour shifts.

'There are a lot of concerned citizens out there who want to do something,' Const. Sean McTeague told the board during a presentation describing the program. 'They are our eyes and ears out there. If something's going on, they call it in.'

The volunteers, who would have to be 18 or older, would be trained by an OPP liaison officer."
