The Police Volunteers were in the City of Newport Council Chambers on Saturday morning, May 3rd, awaiting their instructions for the Loyalty Days Parade.
Imagine how surprised and pleased all the volunteers were to be there when Detective Tony Garbarino received Officer of the Year award! Since he had done such an excellent job last Tuesday in teaching a class on Search & Seizure and Domestic Violence at the Citizen's Academy, we felt like we were watching an "old friend" receive the award. Congratulations Detective Garbarino, you are a credit to your community as well as the Newport Police Department.
